Start Microsoft SQL Server in single-user mode

This section provides the basic steps required to start Microsoft SQL Server in single user mode in Windows 2000 , XP , Windows 2003 or Later.

1 . From the Start menu, choose Settings, Control Panel. and open Administrative Tools.

2 . Open Services.

3 . Double clicks on a SQL Server instance service , Service Properties dialog pops up.

4 . Stop the service.

5 . In the Start parameters field at the bottom of the dialog, enter ¨Cc ¨Cm .

6 . Restart the service.
